Honeywell to put 800-job software center and division headquarters in downtown Atlanta.
Morris Plains, N.J.-based
Honeywell confirmed it had chosen Atlanta for the software development
center and the headquarters of its nearly $10 billion Home and Building
Technologies. The expansion will create more than 800 jobs and make Atlanta central to the industrial conglomerate’s pivot from a hardware to a software and services companies.
In Atlanta, Honeywell will “create
next-generation software offerings that will be sitting at the center of
our connected products,” Senior Vice President Krishna Mikkilineni
said earlier. “The investments we make in this place, in terms of the
capabilities, the facilities, and the challenge, will be the
first-of-its-kind in the United States.”
Multinational conglomerate Honeywell International has put Atlanta at the core of its transition from a hardware to a software business with its decision to pick the city for its first North American software development center. The project, code-named Blizzard, is said to land at Midtown's 715 Peachtree building.
